For the real Singaporean experience, I think it’s Ali Ming Restaurant at Orchard Plaza over Newton Circus anytime. They play Gold 90.5 OUT LOUD and it’s all the ethnic races mishmash, serving or eating, striding in and out, those in service, and those out of. You see sex workers of all flavors; you see bosses and pimps (really); you see regular folks; you see our city uncombed yet truly, stylish.
The vacant store above is located at a wonderful corner for a shop space. SO MUCH possibilities to work with the windows facing the road and the sub-hexagonal floor space… I wish to move into this crummy space, turn it over, and feel like Hardy Boys again… I mean, there’s a magic shop, HY’s tool shop, and Ali Ming Restaurant to suck upon the juices of why people who are not alive stay alive… and why those who are alive stay un-alive.
Have you ever…?
