Who is the happy man? He that sees, in his own house at home, little children crowned with dust, leaping and falling and crying.

“You do not have to be good. / You do not have to walk on your knees / for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting. / You only have to let the soft animal of your body / love what it loves. / Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. / Meanwhile the world goes on. / Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain / are moving across the landscapes, / over the prairies and the deep trees, / the mountains and the rivers. / Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, / are heading home again. / Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, / the world offers itself to your imagination, / calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting— / over and over announcing your place / in the family of things.”
The first thing we decide to design and make is this cross. The cross has a symbolic meaning to me beyond, I used to believe, religion. At one point I even believed I was looking for the word spirituality.
There are two platinum crosses out there. There’s Tiffany and there’s us. Ours is better because you cannot take the soul out of the non/believer.
I have been running many years,
lately I’ve begun to start counting.
Perhaps it is because it will soon
be twenty years
and it is the only constant.
Perhaps too it is how this constant
is changing despite how well I think
I know my brain. The brain and the mind
are not the same thing.
There is construction everywhere
along the beach and on
this particular spot, right
when you come down the overhead bridge
I would love to believe – the low rise moon lifts
the smell of curry
above the workers’ quarters –
I’m just there to catch
this emotion I’d never know.

Bryan old fiend you still got it…
The attraction of a samurai reigns in this household. The new fighting fish is named after we watched Rorouni Kenshin.
“Keep your friend’s toast, but keep your enemy’s toaster.”
Sometimes all you have is a light bulb and you want to be a trailblazer.
I collect these great artists and imagine them in my hallway, but I know the best art is light.
Then daylight streams and dreams waltz. Another night.
I know the best art. I know light. Together is many nights, sharpened and broken by stars.
Diligence is the path to the mountain of knowledge;
The boat in the endless sea of learning being hard work.
Chinese designs, or more rightly, their concerns, make me think of mimicry. There is the overriding desire for harmony, and it is inseparable if this harmony means to enhance or shelter something. Must that extra, extra dose of subtlety come with every magnificent ideal?
And that perhaps, is all it means to be Chinese.
Feet footed in soil;
Blood in stone.
Now that the bustle of holiday shopping is over
At its heart, the hoarding of things is loneliness.
I wanted to use the word objects
As if things would reveal.
Forgetting takes time
Healing is bluffing.
And I will continue searching for equally suitable things
For the rest of my life.
There is no other secret.
