Antique Apothecary Show Globe
A rare color show globe from the 1870s. The amber is the result of the presence of sulfur added to the glass in its molten state. These were used for displaying various things that the druggist or apothecary wanted to put on display, medical powders or compounds in them, and also with plants, roots, herbs. Very catching display for a time when chemistry was a beautiful adventure.
Measures almost 10″ tall and 3.5″ wide.
