Antique Burmese Trinket Chest
Antique trinket chest
From the late 19th century, this is a traditional jewelry chest box from old Burma. This collector’s item is in great shape and the few varieties we’ve come across are either broken or wobbly. The mirror keeps into the chest and the two-tiered drawers are each sectioned into various sized compartments. The wood is teak and sturdy and all joints are well and intact. No nails are present in its joints.
When viewed from the front, the bright hand-painted pair of lilies form a ‘painting’ framed in the teak wood. The chest is carried around by the brass handles which can be turned flat down. This is a wonderful find for us.
The chest measures 6″ wide and 5″ tall, with a depth of slightly over 8″.
