Original Bordello Art, Exhibit In Glass
Antique embroidery art
Original embroidered art centerpiece belonging to a French bordello that closed its doors during the Great Depression. This true art deco piece was hand embroidered sometime in the 1920s, with an emblematic flapper girl.
This antique piece of bordello art history was rolled up and very creased when we found it. We unraveled it and sandwiched it between clear, non-reflective glass, where the light shines through the distinct cut-out squares.
On top of the solid teak frame, we cut a groove and attached a miniature, ceramic flapper bust. Bridget has kept this mini bust for a long time and she finally found the perfect subject.
This piece is approximately 30″ wide.
