SOLD Pain Has An Element Of Blank
World Savage jewelry
A poem etched across two sides of a vintage brass tag. The poem is taken from Emily Dickinson’s poem The Mystery Of Pain.
Pain has an element of blank;
It cannot recollect
When it began, or if there were
A day when it was not.
It has no future but itself,
Its infinite realms contain
Its past, enlightened to perceive
New periods of pain.
On the tag, we’ve replaced the word ‘perceive’ with ‘preserve’.
Pendant is vintage solid brass; comes with a matching brass chain.
Measures 3.6cm by 2.5cm.
